The CynoSure ICON is a ‘state of the art’ cosmetic laser platform that combines the versatility of Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) with an Erbium fractional 1540 nanometer-wavelength laser. By utilizing the numerous options that this technology offers, the patient can be treated for a diverse number of issues. This device is safe for the use in all skin types.
The versatile non-ablative, fractional Erbium laser is used to reduce the appearance of facial wrinkles by delivering energy to the skin that stimulates the formation of new collagen. There is mild to moderate redness and edema for as little as two to four days. After this brief period of inflammation, fibroblasts in the skin begin to produce fresh, new collagen that adds structural support to the skin and thus reduces the depth and appearance of wrinkles and tightens the skin.
